Complementary and Alternative Medicine at the NIH

This article summarizes the summer issue of the Complementary and Alternative Medicine at the NIH Newsletter (Volume 8, Number 3), which describes the activities of the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM). This article describes studies examining mind-body therapies, announces plans for research on auto-immune diseases, provides updates on dietary supplements, the Atkins diet, and SARS, and introduces an electronic news bulletin and new fact sheets.
